Terms of service
jdmsheet.com is run by Avlas Digital, Sole trader, Ireland. Registered business name No. 793798, Companies Registration Office. Address: Park House, The Square, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, F12 HE97, Ireland. Questions: hello@jdmsheet.com.
What the service does
You enter a Japanese chassis number or a VIN. We show the auction appearances of that exact number found in a Japanese used-car auction archive: dates, auction houses, grades and the car as listed. This part is free.
For €9.99 you open an auction sheet: the inspector’s original sheet as filed, the odometer reading on auction day, the damage map and notes translated into plain words, the sale price and the lot photos. Everything the archive filed under one listing of the car opens with one payment. Prices include tax wherever you are.
Paying, and who sells to you
Payments on this site go through Stripe’s Managed Payments. For every purchase the seller of record is Stripe (shown as Link at checkout and on your receipt), not Avlas Digital. In practice this means:
- The checkout page says “Sold through Link”. Your card statement reads LINK.COM* JDMSHEET.COM.
- Stripe calculates, collects and remits the VAT, GST or sales tax due in your country. The prices shown already include that tax, so what you see is what you pay. Prices may be shown converted into your local currency.
- Stripe emails you the receipt, with a PDF attached, right after payment. Order history and receipts are also available through Link.
- Avlas Digital provides the service itself: the search, the sheet, the translation and product support at hello@jdmsheet.com. Payment questions can also go to Link support.
Credit packs are prepaid sheets. Credits never expire. One credit opens one set of sheets filed under one listing of a car, and a credit is used only when a sheet is found.
What we cannot promise
- The archive does not hold every car. Dealer sales, some smaller houses and most cars older than about 2010 are missing. An empty result is not proof the car was never auctioned.
- The sheet is a document written by an auction inspector in Japan. We show it as filed and translate it. We did not inspect the car and cannot vouch for what the inspector wrote.
- The translation is produced automatically from the original image and checked against it. Where the translation and the original disagree, the original wins.
Refunds
- A record is offered as yours only when the archive matched your number digit by digit. If the number written on an opened sheet turns out to be a different car, the payment for that record is refunded automatically.
- A record you added yourself from the handwriting (marked “matched by you”) is sold on your own check and is not refunded if the sheet shows another car.
- If the archive fails to deliver a sheet you paid for, the payment is refunded.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually within a few days. You can also ask Link support for a refund within 60 days of the purchase; Stripe may grant it under its own policy.
Fair use
The free search is for people checking a car they are buying or selling. Automated querying, scraping and resale of the data are not allowed, and searches are rate-limited per connection.
